Hawaii has a national fish with a unique name. Hawaii society of the ordinary call this fish with the name of Humuhumunukunukuapua'a. This fish was designated as the official State fish of Hawaii in 1985. Hawaiian society used to use this fish as a substitute for pork in some religious ceremonies.

According to the local community the name of humuhumunukunukuapua'a means "fish with a snout like a pig". In the wild these fish are able to change the pigment of sisiknya for camouflage.
Humuhumu has the unique habit that is, removing the water from the inside of his mouth. Fish fish belongs to very aggressive especially while in keluasaannya. Fish Humuhumu has the characteristic that is the body shape like wave with nuasa color blue, black and yellow. These fish live in the cracks of the coral and rock fissures.
