The Army (AD) became the overall champion of the shooting competition between the Australian Army of Skill Arms at Meeting (AASAM). AASAM 2019 is organized by the Australian Royal Army. This event lasts for 8 days from March 26 to April 2, 2019 in Puckapunyal Military Range, Victoria, Australia.
This achievement is the 12th time in a row. The TNI AD contingent won 21 gold medals, 14 silver and 10 bronze medals in various contested shooting competition materials, both teams and individuals. The second winner is the host contingent of the Australian Army with eight gold medals, 11 silver and 10 bronze medals. While the third rank is the contingent of the Malaysian Army which won 5 gold medals, 4 silver and 5 bronze.
Although the number of medals has decreased compared to that achieved in AASAM 2018, this victory shows that the ability to shoot TNI soldiers is still too strong compared to soldiers from other countries, including even developed countries. According to him, the AD Army contingent managed to get rid of some developed countries that have modern military technology such as the United States, Britain, France to host Australia.
The countries participating in this annual international shooting competition are Indonesia, Australia, Malaysia, Philippines, Japan, New Zealand, Thailand, the United States, Korea, Canada, Singapore, Brunei Darussalam, UAE, Britain, Fiji, Tonga, Timor Leste and Cambodia.
Not only that, three TNI AD shooters came out as champions in the 104 Match Championship, namely Sertu Woli as 1st place, Sertu Misran as 2nd Place and Kopda Arifin as 3rd Place.
The winners of the top ten AASAM 2019 race standings after Indonesia are Australia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Korea, the United States, France, Canada, Japan and Vietnam, while the participating countries that are not present are Iraq, the Philippines and Singapore.
